According to a new report from TIME Magazine, visits to porn sites are quickly declining while social networking sites like Facebook are on the rise. Among users over 25, porn sites come in at #2 behind search engines. However, when you look at users age 18-24, visits to pornographic websites fall all the way to #4 behind social networking sites, search engines, and web-based email sites.

Apparently, Generation Y is “too busy chatting with friends to look at online skin” (to quote the TIME article). If that’s the case then I think it’s great. Maybe my generation is “turning the corner” on this issue. Maybe we have realized some of the emptiness of pornography.

However, I also know that there is just as much skin in the online networking sites (especially MySpace). You can still see more than enough by hitting up some of these profiles. Plus, much of your peeping can be brushed off by claiming that you were “just browsing.”

So… what do you think? Why the fall in visits to pornographic websites among younger users? Is there a real shift happening here or will the trend reverse itself soon?

Let’s here it.
